You’ve wandered into the topsy-turvy world of Tulgey Wood, the blog of writer and historian Jim Fanning. Tulgey Wood celebrates artistry and creativity (and sometimes just plain madness): movies, animation, TV, books, comics—and of course Disney, lots and lots of true-blue, through-and-through Disney, including D23 and Disney twenty-three Magazine, and Sketches Magazine and the Walt Disney Collectors Society. Tulgey Wood is so fun, fascinating and full of frolicsome photos and facts, it’s scary. So wander through the wonder of it all, and enjoy.

Spooky Snoopy

No surprise that the Peanuts comic strip included Halloween as that holiday is such a part of the childhood scene, but decades after the all-tome classic strip debuted on October 2, 1950, Schulz's characters and themes had become part of the celebration itself—an intertwining of the strip and the spooky season that continues to grow each year. Much Halloween merchandise has been created over the year's, especially by longtime licensee Hallmark, such as this Snoopy trick-or-treat wall decoration. Happy anniversary to Peanuts, and long may the association of this October-born comic with Halloween happily and frightfully flourish. Come back tomorrow for more October oddities and curiosities as we continue our Countdown to Halloween 2021

A great combination, for sure. I always watch The Great Pumpkin, every year. Even if the kids all treat Charlie Brown horribly!

I love it! We live close to Carowinds which is a theme park on the North and South Carolina border and they use the Peanuts characters in their kids area. When we've gone for their Great Pumpkin festival they always have Snoopy dressed up. They even have some live Peanuts Halloween shows. Snoopy even does the Time Warp!
