You’ve wandered into the topsy-turvy world of Tulgey Wood, the blog of writer and historian Jim Fanning. Tulgey Wood celebrates artistry and creativity (and sometimes just plain madness): movies, animation, TV, books, comics—and of course Disney, lots and lots of true-blue, through-and-through Disney, including D23 and Disney twenty-three Magazine, and Sketches Magazine and the Walt Disney Collectors Society. Tulgey Wood is so fun, fascinating and full of frolicsome photos and facts, it’s scary. So wander through the wonder of it all, and enjoy.

Tom About To Scare Jerry And Tuffy (But Will Eat Crow After That)

Even though this is more of an autumn cover than specifically Halloween art, it still illustrates that the classic cartoon characters sure no how to celebrate our favorite holidays. This cover is from Tom and Jerry Comics #88 (November 1951), and though Tom is rarely shown as having the upper hand over Jerry and Tuffy, here he is clearly in the power position. Check back for more Countdown to Halloween 2021 fun all through October.

Saw your blog on Hanna Barbera Super Heroes.
You talked about the Herculoids, etc.
In August 1967 CBS had short promos for the 1967-1968 season.
There were three in particular of interest. They were for The Herculoids, Moby Dick and Mighty Mightor, and Shazzan. Have ever seen them?
I have one for The New Space Ghost from 1967, and one from the Superman Aquaman Hour of Adventure. The two have segments cut out.
I also have the complete Cartooniverse showcasing all the CBS shows.
It would be so great to get the Herculoids, Shazzan and Mightor promos.
