You’ve wandered into the topsy-turvy world of Tulgey Wood, the blog of writer and historian Jim Fanning. Tulgey Wood celebrates artistry and creativity (and sometimes just plain madness): movies, animation, TV, books, comics—and of course Disney, lots and lots of true-blue, through-and-through Disney, including D23 and Disney twenty-three Magazine, and Sketches Magazine and the Walt Disney Collectors Society. Tulgey Wood is so fun, fascinating and full of frolicsome photos and facts, it’s scary. So wander through the wonder of it all, and enjoy.

He's Looking For A Head To Chop

70 years ago today, in the very appropriate month of October, Walt Disney's The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad was released—and the second half of this animated feature about "Two Fabulous Characters" (the working title of this, the last of Walt's package features), "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow," has been a Halloween favorite. Here's an article I wrote for Sketches, the Official  Magazine of the Walt Disney Collectors Society, Number 3, 2000. Click on each page of the article to discover contains some tantalizing tidbits  and rare artwork and other images about this sure-footed adaption of Washington Irving's classic Halloween tale, a perfect addition to our Countdown to Halloween 2019.

Uh, that should be 70 years ago, Jimbo. :)

Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad is my favorite Disney animated film. Very underrated, and the best of the Forties' "package features", in my opinion.

Thanks for catching my typo, TC James. Yes it's a great one. A return to form in both Toad and Ichabod.
